VDC Estimates is used to connect the VDC Plumbing Estimator desktop application with QuickBooks Online for the purpose of creating and managing estimate-related transactions.

Information accessed

When a user authorizes QuickBooks Online, the application may access information necessary to perform the requested estimating workflow, including QuickBooks company information, customers, products and services, and estimates.

How information is used

QuickBooks information is used only to support user-requested accounting and estimating functions, such as identifying a customer, locating or creating service items, checking for an existing estimate, and creating a new estimate.

Authentication information

The application does not collect or store a user's QuickBooks password. QuickBooks authorization is performed through Intuit's OAuth 2.0 process. Authorization credentials used by the Windows desktop application are stored locally for the authorized Windows user and are not included in normal estimator database backups.

Sharing and sale of information

VDC Estimates does not sell QuickBooks customer data. QuickBooks information is not shared with advertisers. Information is transmitted to Intuit only as necessary to perform the QuickBooks Online functions requested by the user.

Retention and disconnection

Users can disconnect QuickBooks Online from the VDC Plumbing Estimator application. Local authorization data can then be removed from the user's computer. Accounting transactions previously created in QuickBooks remain subject to the user's QuickBooks Online account and retention settings.

Security

The application uses encrypted HTTPS connections when communicating with Intuit services. Local QuickBooks authorization data is protected for the Windows user by Windows security mechanisms.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the application or Intuit integration changes. The current version will be published at this URL.
